…….speaking of Berean's, The first time I heard Chuck Missler teach, he said the most amazing thing, towards the end of his teaching. Of which I thought the teaching was by itself very insightful , but my opinion of him as a person quickly elevated . He said, "don't take my word for it, check it out, be a berean, and then quoted acts 17:11.
I thought to myself in all honesty, I don't think I have ever heard that scripture spoken or encouraged from a pulpit platform. Had a bit of a "soul rush" of Freedom and confidence!! My experience had been more the inference from the pulpit that I was not to question the biblical interpretive process coming form pastoral leadership. More, that I was welcome and somewhat obligated to take their word for most everything.
But here was Chuck, a certifiable smart guy in the ranks of an Einstein (check his credentials) challenging little ol' me not to take his word, but to search out the scriptures myself and to let the Holy Spirit teach me, John 16:13 ……WOW!!!!! Thank you Chuck! Since that day my understanding of God's Word has grown exponentially at least 10 fold. …..more later Frank
